    o Urbanisation Projects and Ordinary Works Projects.
    o Urban Agreements.
    o Protection of urban legality, inspection and sanctions.
    o Municipal authorizations and permits for works, uses and activities in all types of locations, first use licences and certificates of conformity with building standards.
    o Provisional authorizations, of works and uses.
    o Public Works.
    o Promotion of subsidised housing.
    o Housing Rehabilitation.
    o Intervention in and maintenance of municipal heritage.
    o Paving and conservation of public and rural roads.
    o Traffic regulation.
    o Road marking.
    o Parks and gardens.
    o Solid urban waste Management Plan.
    o Water Protection and Management.
    o Protected Natural Spaces.
    o Cleansing and signposting of dumps (Green Zone).

    • Social Welfare and Culture: culture, social services, education, youth, sports, organised trips, third age and health. Its areas of responsibility will be:

    o Public Libraries.
    o Municipal bands.
    o Municipal Archive.
    o Cultural Activities.
    o Leisure Activities.
    o Sport facilities.
    o Promotion of sport and sport events.
    o Organised holidays.
    o Municipal participation in traditional holidays and religious events.
    o Youth Council or Youth Centre.
    o Yearly municipal plan for Social Welfare and Action Plan.
    o Creation and improvement of welfare centres (residences, pensioner centres, workshops, day centres for older people, open centres and dining halls).
    o Studies regarding social needs.
    o Management of local health services personnel.
    o Health campaigns (deratizations, disinfections and fumigations).
    o Preventive vaccinations.
    o Cooperation with the educational administration in the creation, construction and maintenance of public educational establishments and their links with industry and work placements.

    • Civic participation and safety: safety and surveillance, Civic Participation Council, Municipal Information Bulletin, Ombudsperson, personnel and domestic?? Internal systems. Its areas of responsibility will be:

    o Safety and surveillance.
    o Plans for the safety and protection of the public.
    o Information regarding the desired conduct of citizens.
    o Regulation of methods, means and procedures of information and the participation of citizens and citizen groups in the municipal management.
    o To elaborate, and, if appropriate, consider the approval or modification of the Letter of Civic Participation.
    o Municipal Information Bulletin.
    o Promotion of the constitution and functioning of the Council of Civic Participation.
    o Municipal Cooperation with non-profit-making and non-governmental institutions and organisations.
    o Heritage and inventory of areas of local importance and value.
