POTRIES WON THE “40É CERTAMEN DE BANDES DE LA COMUNITAT VALENCIANA”

The “Associació Artístico Musical Sant Blai de Potries ” was the winner in the “40é Certamen de Bandes de la Comunitat Valenciana”, held last Saturday, November 3, where they won the first prize and honorable mention of the fourth section. Under the direction of Adrián Ronda Sampayo, the band performed the pasodoble La flor de azahar, by Miguel Asins Arbó, and Nautilus, by Juan L. Roig, as well as the obligatory piece, Trafalgar, by Javier Pinto.

The band from Potries had the support of the whole town, since more than one hundred people accompanied the musicians to the Palau de les Arts of Valencia, among which were the mayor, Assumpta Domínguez, the local authorities, the rector of the parish and the president of the “Federació de Societats Musicals de la Comunitat Valenciana”and neighbor of Potries, Pedro Rodríguez.

The Mayor expressed how proud was the village of Potries about their band and reported that “although this award has no financial endowment, the City will make a contribution of 3.000 euros in recognition of the extraordinary task performed by our musicians, which will be added to the annual contribution foreseen in the municipal agreement with the entity, amounting to 7.600 euros ».
